The player development philosophy and programs at Northern Lions are guided by our Long Term Development Plan. The Long Term Development Plan focuses on creating training environments that, specifically cater to the soccer development and continuous improvement of our players. We do not just focus primarily on basic game play. We aim to help each player build their technical skills and confidence to help reach their full potential. Northern Lions strives to develop better players by providing ongoing support structures and programs for Clubs, coaches and parents to implement our strategy of being player-centric at every level of the game.
Northern Lions is committed in its endeavour to provide young players (Ages 5-14) with quality coaching, skill training, combined with exposure to professional and international leagues to produce young players of integrity and with the confidence and ability to potentially play professional soccer.
Northern Lions’s Development Academy program is driven by the game, its players and coaches. This game-centric approach allows for long-term development to occur through a deep understanding of what makes players successful around the world. As the sport of soccer grows in Canada, young players in our country need the proper environment to compete against the world’s elite.
